From the Speyside Distillery comes an independently bottled single malt, released as part of Douglas Laing’s Xtra Old Particular range. It was distilled in May 1998 and whacked straight into a refill butt, where it lay resting for the next 21 years. When Douglas Laing finally deemed it ready, it was bottled in May 2019 at a fairly punch cask strength of 61.3% ABV, with the butt yielding only 256 bottles.
