The second batch of Smögen’s eight year old single malt whisky is once again a marvellous expression from the Swedish distillers. While the first batch was matured in first fill Sauternes barriques, this one was aged in a more traditional combination of bourbon and sherry casks, and bottled up at a hefty 59.8% ABV. Richly flavoursome, which a solid backbone of peat smoke running through it. Smögen keeps on impressing.

Nose: Full-bodied aroma.
Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
Finish: Perfect, long lasting finish.
