Chichibu Taiwan Edition 2020 is a NAS Single Malt whisky from Japan. Bottled in 2020 at 53.5% this bottle will make a fine addition to any Japan Single Malt whisky lover. Please note that this Distillery Bottling is Bourbon Barrel, Madeira Hogshead, Chibidaru. It is also worth mentioning that this is uncolored, non-chillfiltered edition of Chichibu. This is one of only 701 bottles ever produced. A fact, that makes this edition even more desirable.
Chichibu Taiwan Edition 2020 Tasting Notes
Nose: Floral, pear, apricot, citrus, pineapple, cream, vanilla, straw, peat flavor becomes more obvious after adding water.
Palate: Light peat, pineapple, citrus, nuts, a little nutmeg, cloves, vanilla.
Finish: Medium length, light smokiness from burning wood chips, fruit notes and a perfect balance of spices.
Distillery Information
Chichibu distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery. Founded in 2004 by Ichiro Akuto, and operational from 2008, it was the first new Japanese distillery since 1973. It is located at Chichibu, a city in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Chichibu Distillery is the only distillery in the world to use 100% Mizunara Japanese oak washbacks for fermentation which aid in creating the distinctly fruity style of whisky for which Ichiro is known. Additionally, the distillery has its own cooperage and floor malting facility on site.
