Solid, with a ripe core of raspberry and plum pâte de fruit flavors that sparkles with detailed anise, apple wood and sweet tobacco notes. Has weight and depth, but the acidity is fresh, allowing this to stretch out through the finish.

    Reviews:

    • Wine Advocate: This was considered a great, great vintage in northern California, but not all wineIn marked contrast to the tannic 2015, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape is a forward, charming version of this cuvée, boasting delicate floral aromas and ripe cherry and stone fruit flavors. Full-bodied and creamy in texture, it shows no hard edges but delivers plenty of charm and finesse for drinking over the next 10-12 years. It’s a classic blend of 65% Grenache, 20% Mourvèdre and 15% Syrah.

    Producer Information

Clos du Mont-Olivet is located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, France and has been producing red and white wines from the region since 1932. The estate is owned by the Sabon family and is managed by third-generation family members Celine, David and Thierry Sabon. The estate covers 21 hectares (51 acres) of vineyard land around the southern Rhône, and bottles wines from three appellations: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, and Vin de France. Small amounts of Counoise, Vaccarèse, Muscardin, Picpoul Noir and Terret Noir are planted at Clos du Mont-Olivet’s vineyards as blending partners for the Châteauneuf-du-Pape encepagement.
